I started classes again last week. It’s been quite interesting getting back into a routine but it’s nice in way. This semester is way easier than the last two due to the fact that I now actually have experience. I feel as though I can relax a lot more and actually use my creative energy on coming up with cooler activities instead of wasting it on trying to figure out how to format things or structure the semester. We also just had a new English teacher join us and leading up to the semester we had a lot of conversations that were mostly me talking and giving her advice. I amazed myself a little bit because as I heard myself talking I thought “Wow, this actually makes sense!” It definitely left me with a feeling of accomplishment and competence. It definitely helps me feel more like this is where I’m supposed to be at this point in life.
God continues to grow us in different areas and He has proven faithful over and over. We are learning more and more about each other and slowly we are turning into a well-oiled machine. Obviously we still have our issues but when the rubber hits the road we generally manage to straighten out and keep driving as opposed to skidding off the side into a guard rail or something. Our Bible study continues to grow. We had seven people total tonight including ourselves with quite a diverse selection of people. It was really cool to study what we learned on Sunday and get different perspectives.
On the band side of things, we are continuing to ramp up to our EP release. It will be coming out on iTunes on October 8. It will be available on other places as well. I’m really excited about how the album artwork turned out. If you haven’t seen it yet, go check out our new tumblr! We are trying to use tumblr as a place to share some of our other creative whims so definitely keep a lookout on that for more!
I recently discovered an app the allows me to download eBooks from my local library (RCPL for the win!) and, bookworm that I am, I actually remembered my library card number by heart. I haven’t used it for over a year. I was pretty impressed with my brain at that point…
I’m currently reading through a book by Rachel Held Evans called A Year of Biblical Womanhood. I am really enjoying it. She has a great writing style and she is challenging me to think differently about issues surrounding women in the Bible. I’m reading through it a bit quickly at the moment but I definitely want to go through it again and digest it some more.
I’ve also been rereading the Chronicles of Narnia. My word, I love these books like nobody’s business. They are so simple and so profound. They are soul therapy. C.S. Lewis nails the human condition right on the head. There are things that I can identify with in the characters and I feel as though I am walking and growing alongside them. Truth be told, I get completely lost in books like these. I literally feel as though I am in another place and rousing me out of this can sometimes be difficult.
I think that is quite enough information for one post, so I’ll sign off! Congrats if you made it to the bottom! Lizbet over and out.
